Essay

The dissertation provides a theoretical justification and summarizes modern conceptual principles for solving an important scientific and practical task, which consists in the development of more advanced and cost-effective agrotechnical techniques for growing winter rye after spring barley and sunflower at different sowing times and levels of mineral nutrition. Solving the task allows to stabilize the production of winter rye grain by increasing productivity and improving the quality of grain products by improving agricultural techniques in the conditions of the Northern Steppe of Ukraine. The relevance of the topic of the dissertation is due to the existing requirements of grain production and the need to determine the complex influence of predecessors, sowing dates and mineral nutrition on the formation of yield and technological properties of grain, as well as on the indicators of the economic efficiency of growing modern varieties of winter rye through the fullest use of the biological potential of plants. As a result of the dissertation work, results were obtained that have scientific novelty and practical significance. The scientific novelty is that for the conditions of the Northern Steppe of Ukraine, for the first time, the complex influence of predecessors, sowing dates and plant nutrition system on the formation of yield and technological properties of grain of modern varieties of winter rye with various biological features was investigated and revealed. More advanced and cost-effective agrotechnical methods of growing winter rye for the soil and climatic conditions of the steppe zone have been developed. The influence of predecessors and sowing dates on field germination of seeds and moisture availability of various varieties of winter rye was determined. Features of the formation of linear growth and above-ground mass of winter crops at different phases of their development have been revealed. The parameters of leaf surface formation and photosynthetic activity of plants under different vegetation conditions were established. The influence of predecessors, sowing dates and the level of mineral nutrition on the biological stability of various varieties of winter rye, as well as on the structure of productive stems in crops, the level of grain yield and its quality, was determined. Agrotechnical methods of growing modern varieties of winter rye have been improved by placing its crops after spring barley and sunflower. The provisions on: patterns of growth and development of winter rye plants after spring barley and sunflower in years with different weather conditions have gained further development; formation of grain yield and quality depending on predecessors, sowing dates and nutrition system.
