Zhuhai V. Means of Linguistic Realization and Functions of Humor inGerman-language Social Networks and Cinematography.

The dissertation is devoted to a comprehensive study of the means of linguistic realization and functions of German-language humor on the social networks YouTube and Instagram, as well as in the cinema of countries belonging to the German-speaking linguistic and cultural space. The novelty of this dissertation is that it is the first to systematically study the means of linguistic realization and functions of humor in German-language cinema and social media. This made it possible to thoroughly analyze humorous manifestations in audiovisual media formats (videos and feature films) and highlight the mechanisms by which humor is formed in a particular socio-cultural context. The study results are summarized using an integrated approach based on qualitative and quantitative analysis within the framework of script theory in combination with the general verbal theory of humor. The dissertation substantiates and demonstrates the algorithm for applying philosophical theories of humor (superiority, release, and incongruity), identifying the peculiarities of the main functions of humor in communication (identification, clarification, enforcement, and differentiation) and highlighting the linguistic features of humor realization based on contexts selected from German-language films and social networks. The dissertation consists of an abstract, an introduction, four chapters, conclusions to each chapter, general conclusions, and a list of references. The introduction outlines the relevance and novelty of the study, substantiates the subject, object, and purpose of the research, defines its theoretical and practical significance, and formulates the provisions that are submitted for defense.
