The relevance of the proposed study, on the one hand, is due to the dynamic development of the modern event industry in accordance with the main trends of the socio-cultural space of the 21st century, and on the other hand, the insufficient coverage of practical developments in theoretical works of the cultural direction. The object of the research is the modern event industry, the subject is the socio-cultural metamorphosis of the event industry in 2000–2024. and typological methods, structural-functional method, method of comparative analysis, method of conceptual analysis, descriptive method, which includes observation, comparison and generalization, etc. in order to outline the features of the modern event industry and approaches to its understanding as a phenomenon of the socio-cultural space. The practical significance of the obtained results is determined by the possibility of extrapolation of the experience of the modern event industry presented in the dissertation in the study of similar cultural phenomena, the introduction of new sources into scientific circulation, as well as the possibility of using materials and research results in the educational process when teaching cultural disciplines. The main provisions and conclusions of the study can be applied in the practice of the event industry of Ukraine, become the basis for scientific developments in the field of cultural studies; to enrich lecture courses in institutions of higher education in the field of art; contribute to the development of special courses and seminar classes. The study is aimed at eliminating gaps in knowledge regarding the maximum attraction of visitors and the experience of modern events and aims to guide the best global practices for the development of new event models in Ukraine. By analyzing insights into visitor needs and preferences, the research provides strategies for creating holistic, interactive, immersive modern events.
In particular, the sociocultural metamorphoses that influenced the development and caused the formation of the main trends of the event industry in 2000–2024 were conceptualized. The typology of events was clarified and a classification was proposed according to their types, content and format. The peculiarities of the impact of globalization on the formation of the main trends of the modern event industry are considered. The influence of the culture of metamodernism on the metamorphosis of the event industry in the context of new forms of events and exciting event experience is revealed; metamodern characteristics of events are outlined. Innovative technologies (virtual, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, social networks) have been studied as a factor in the shaping processes of the event industry of the second to the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century. The features of digital metamorphosis in the modern event industry are revealed using the example of virtual and hybrid events.
