Kondyk D. Harmonization of Ukrainian legislation in the field of copyright with EU law

The dissertation is a comprehensive study in which the problems of harmonizing the legislation of Ukraine in the field of copyright with EU law are analyzed and ways of solving them are determined. As a result of the conducted research, problematic issues of harmonization of Ukrainian legislation in the field of copyright with EU law at the current stage were comprehensively analyzed and proposals were formulated to improve the process of harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with EU law in the field of copyright, taking into account existing problems and practices of harmonization of copyright legislation of member countries EU. For the first time, the current trends and prospects for the harmonization of Ukrainian copyright law with EU law were outlined through the prism of new objects of legal protection of intellectual property, which include: literary works not only in written form, but also in electronic (digital) or other form; databases (data compilations), if they are the result of intellectual activity by selection or arrangement of their component parts; music and light shows, circus performances; works of landscape formations; artistic forging; collections of treatments of intangible cultural heritage; theatrical productions, stage adaptations of works of fiction, journalism, scientific, technical or other nature (books, brochures, articles, etc.) in written, electronic (digital) or other form, and processing of intangible cultural heritage; translation texts for dubbing (including dubbing), subtitling of audiovisual works in other languages. However, dynamic social development and the desire for full integration into the European Union still require our country to continue the process of step-by-step harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with European legislation in the field of copyright.
