Territorial planning processes under modern challenges gain special significance for ensuring sustainable regional development. Regional development defines the living conditions of the population, the possibilities for creating conditions for business, trade, industrial and agricultural development, construction, transport, etc. Understanding the mechanisms for ensuring the attractiveness of regions for the population, the impact of problematic factors, and the search for potential opportunities for development is an important element of urban development, ensuring the attraction of the population to specific territories. A region is a dynamic system influenced by a combination of internal and external factors, the changes of which affect the transformation of regional development conditions and, accordingly, require effective management mechanisms for ensuring socio-economic development. Spatial planning is an additional factor influencing the specificity of the formation and implementation of management processes in the system of sustainable regional development. Under the conditions of the full-scale military aggression of the Russian federation against Ukraine, globalization challenges, ecological problems, and socio-economic demands from the population, urban planning systems require detailed analysis and development of proposals for implementing territorial development models.
