Essay

RBP has been extracted from the plasma of man's blood, polycloning antibodies to this protein have been obtained and test-system for quantitative determination of RBP in man's blood serum has been created. It has been detected that there is a direct correlation between the contents of RBP and reti- nol in blood of both healthy donors and patients with stom- ach cancer. The reduction of the content of retinol and RBP correlates with decease phase, stomach area that is affected by cancerous tumor and the level of tumor differentiation. Tests for quantitative contents of RBP in blood serum can be used as a criterion of sufficiency in supply of organism with retinol and also as an instrument for prognostication monito- ring of the effectiveness of the retinoltherapy treatment of oncological patients.
