Essay

The dissertation is devoted to investigation of immune reactivity transfer factor (TF) -- a biologically active substance capable to transfer antigenspecific reactivity to intact recepients. Firstly the complex study of immunobiological properties was performed and the physico-chemical characteristics of human and animal transfer factor induced by bacterial antigens and their purified components was given. Possible mechanisms of TF's influence on development of cellular immunity and nonspecific resistanse factors have been established. On the base of structural, physico-chemical and immunobiological investigations the hypothesis of TF immunoactivating effects was stated. It seems that TF can modify receptors on the immune cells surface, activate cytokine production including Са2+ messengers influence. Found antigenspecifity and absence of TF side effects provide the possibility for TF usage as an immunomodulator in medicine and veterinary. Кey words: immunity, transfer factor, bacterial antigens.
