Essay

The optical spectra of 9 compounds in system CuHal-MeHal (Me=Cs,Rb; Hal=I,Cl). were studied, and the connection of spectra with crystalline structure of compounds was established. If is shown that in studied compounds electronic excitations and excitons are localised in Cu-Hal- sublattice. The excitons in iodides of ternary compounds obey to Vannier-Mott'model, while in chlorides the features of Frencel excitons are displayed. The temperature change of the excitonic bands'parameters was studied at the phase transition from a lowtemperature dielectrical to superionic state of compounds.
