Essay

Research work was centered on the measures of fighting weeds in maize crop. Standard methods of research had been employed. Comprehensive ecologically safe measures of fighting weeds in the crop of maize grown for silage in conditions of north-eastern Forest Steppe Zone of Ukraine is defended. The results of the investigation proved that encrusting seeds of maize with herbicide primextra at the rate of 0,9 l per ton was the most effective for local application of this chemical in coated seeds. It was determined that growing of maize at the stage of 5-7 leaves in mixture with feed beans was a reasonable phytocenotic measure of suppressing weeds.
