Vyshyvana N. Evaluative adjectives in Modern German.

The present dissertation deals with the complex semantic-statistic analysis of the evaluative adjectives in Modern German according to the following aspects: lexical and semantic combility, paradigmatic relationstips, semantic structure of the word. Frequency ctaracteristics of the lezico-semantic group of the evaluative adjectives are presented here. Word combinations of the adjectives with noun subclasses and separate nouns tave been analyzed. Syntagmatic ties of the studied adjectives have been establisted and classified. Paradifmatic relationstips between adjectives are learned on the basis of their combinative powers and the degree of their “synonymity”/”antonymity” is determined with the help of special statastical methods. We have studied the peculiarities of the hierarchical relationships between lexico-semantic variants (LSV) sn the semantic structure of the polysemantic adjectives.
