Essay

.The important role of corrosion factor in the fracture processes is shown based on electrochemical studies of the surface, deformed during cavitation process, and using comparative evaluation of corrosion-erosion resistance (CEF) in corrosion-inert and aggressive environments. Experimental method of the comparative evaluation of effectiveness of inhibition of CEF with dominant effect of corrosion factor is developed. It is shown that the decrease of CEF due to variation of electrochemical conditions can be stronger, than due to modification of microstructure. Inversion of the effect of preliminary hydrogenation on the CEF rate depending on the strength level of steel is shown: hydrogenation increases the CEF resistance for low strength steels and decreases for high strength steels. The advantage of inhibitor class, which creates the adsorb films in comparison to the oxidant-passivator, is shown. The method of evaluation of the inhibitor protection effectiveness is proposed based on the correlation bet ween relaxation of charge of the deformed surface and parameters of CEF.
