Dissertation is devoted to systematisation of the data about physical working capacity (PWC) in 280 Chernobyl disaster clean-up workers with essential hypertension and 174 healthy persons. The changes of PWC and its oxygen supply in Chernobyl disaster clean-up workers in range of doses 0.05-0.5 Sv are characterised by non-linear relation. The versions of adaptation to physical exercise are determined. The decreasing of PWC in Chernobyl disaster clean-up workers with hypertension was revealed. It was increased during six months after leaving the contamination zone. To the end of decade PWC was reduced on the average to 27.5 W. On the basis of the study results the method of assessment of threshold power in hypertensive patients is elaborated. The program of bicycle exercise training that promotes to increasing of PWC for the Chernobyl disaster clean-up workers with hypertension is proposed. The results of the study have been implemented into practical work of the clinical hospitals.
