Essay

The author has worked out an over-the bone plate of a new design which has transverse petals lying in the stripe surface, bended under the lower edge of the jaw. In this manner a spatial increased rigidity of the fragments fixation is achieved. By investigations on the stand in the fractures fixed with the plates of the own design the mobility of the fragments after masticatory cycles appeared by 15-20% more than in the commonly employed plates. Observing 42 patients and analyzing their clinica, X-ray and electrophysiological finding the details of the osteosynthesis interventions with the use of the new plates have been worked out. Surgical trauma was not more then in the osteosynthesis of the fractures wish conventional over-the-bone plates.
