In this dissertation the author deals with the legal status of regional subdivision in Ukraine-oblast. Constitutional nature of oblast is being is analyzed as well as historical aspects of introduction and development of regional division in Ukraine. The research of formation of common interests in territorial communities of village and cities is done. Some problematical aspects of regional politics are discussed.
