The paper deals with the research of the records concerning the fate of the Ukrainian cultural treasures that have been taken out from the country by the Nazi Germans during World War II. The object of the research is the archival dokuments of the Special Command (Einsatzstab) of Reichsleiter Rosenberg (1940-1945) that are in Kiev (Tsentral'nyi derzhavnyi arkhiv vyshchykh orhaniv vlady ta upravlinnya Ukrainy / Central State Archive of High Organs of Government of Ukraine), in Moscow (Rossiskii gosudarstvennyi voennyi arkhiv / Russian State Military Archive), in Berlin (Bundesarchiv in Berlin) and the records of the Central Collecting Point in Munich of the Office of Military Government for Germany, US-Zone, - Property Cards Art, "Shipments" and the List of the restituded cultural treasures to the USSR during the years 1945-1962 that are kept in the Bundesarchiv in Koblenz, Germany.
