Isaienko O. Hetman Petro Konashevych-Sahaidachny’s Figure in Historiography

The dissertation includes a comprehensive study of views on the figure of Hetman Petro Konashevich Sagaidachny by representatives of Ukrainian, Polish and Russian historical science, as well as isolated appeals to the image of the Ukrainian Hetman by European and American researchers. A number of works have been introduced into historiographical circulation that constitute a transitional link from sources to historical works and have not previously been considered as historiographical sources for studying the figure of P. Sagaidachny. The periodization of the historiography of the figure of the Ukrainian hetman is proposed, which is close to the domestic general periodization, because it is Ukrainian historians who have shown the greatest interest in the personality of Peter Konashevich. A hypothesis on the convergence of views of modern Ukrainian, Polish and Russian historiography on the basis of studying the nation-building, state activities of the hetman is proposed.
