Essay

Dissertation is devoted to study of the renin-angiotensin system and calcium and magnesium metabolism conditions in 167 hypertensive patients and 60 healthy subjects. It has been evidenced that the most expressed calcium metabolism alterations are characteristic for hypertensive patients with low plasma renin activity (PRA), and the most expressed magnesium metabolism alterations are typical for patients with high PRA. The dependence of the antihypertensive therapy efficiency on the calcium and magnesium metabolisms and the renin-angiotensin system condition has been found. The corrections expediences of the calcium metabolism alterations in patients with low PRA and the magnesium metabolism alterations in patients with high PRA have been proved. Tha task of antihypertensive pharmacotherapy efficiency increase during application the individual indications for its choice has been decided. The results of the study have been implemented into practical hospital work.
