Essay

The Dissertation is dedicated to the studies of semantics, pragmatics and structure of compound conjunction-linked sentences in the Crimean Tatar Language. The work focuses on the problem of the compound sentence (kinds, types of links between the components, structure), including the first ever consideration of complex conjunction-linked sentences. Namely, the pragmatic analysis of linking means was carried out, which showed that the conjunction function depends not only on the lexical meaning but also on the location in a syntactic structure and the phonetic symbolism of the components forming a phonetic "shell" of these conjunctions. The lexico-semantic analysis permitted to classify the compound conjunction-linked sentences as connective, partitive and comparative-adversative, highlighting different meanings and shades of relations within each separate group. Also it permitted to specify groups of sentences with lexical, morphological and syntactic correlates. By way of structural analysis elementa ry and complex-structured sentences were singled out.
