Essay

The dissertation is devoted to investigation of linkage optical and magnetooptical characteristics of Al and Cr granular ultrathin films and their binary composites with parameters of roughness and curvature for substrate surface. It is determined that the surface polariton's excitement by Krechmann's method is impossible in Al films with thickness' less than 30 nm. Considerable changes of Al energy band structure take place in such films during decreasing their thickness. Mechanism of forming binary films depending on degree of curvature of substrate surface is detected. The value of substrate roughness has a determinant influence on shape of the metal grains. Modification of electronical characteristics of aluminum and chromium is investigated during transition from bulk metal to thin films.
