Fedoriv Y. Sociocultural Aspects of Discontent Utterances Prosodic Organization (experimental phonetic research in the English discourse)

On the basis of the experimental phonetic research the prosodic means of discontent utterances produced by the speakers of different sociocultural levels in formal and informal communicative situations are determined. The dissertation systematizes functional, semantic, and linguistic structural aspects of discontent utterances and establishes the invariant prosodic model of the utterances under study viewed as a particular type of emotional utterances. The corresponding variant realizations of utterances conveying basic feelings, differentiated in accordance with the speakers' sociocultural levels and communicative situations, are regarded against the background of interaction of the feeling control degree and the attending extralinguistic factors.
