Galapchuk O. Age Differentiation of Discourse Strategies and Tactics in English

The object of investigation are fragments of dialogue discourse, determined by the age of the interlocutors. The main task of investigation is a complex pragmatic study of the communicative and functional peculiarities of dialogue discourse fragments. The methods of investigation are logical, semantic, communicative and intentional analysis, speech act modelling, elements of sociolinguistic analysis. The novelty of results obtained: the work is the first in native linguistics complex study of young and elderly speech behavior and analysis of discourse strategies and tactics determined by the age of the interlocutors in certain speech situations. The theoretical and practical investigation results: functioning of the address forms used by children/ teenagers and adults; determination of the main peculiarities of the realization of communicative and informative intention; examination of the choice of the expression form of speech act by young and elderly. The level of the inculcation - the materials of t he investigation are used in the Theoretical Grammar Course, Pragmalinguistics and Sociolinguistics. The field of application is the linguistic courses of English in Higher Schools.
