The dissertation is devoted to improvement of diagnosis and treatment of Reiter's disease (RD) and gout (G) in coal miners, inc dependence of severity of the course of inflammatory and metabolic articular diseases which the sick miners work has been assessed. The state of lipid, purine and calcium metabolisms, lipid peroxidation and antioxidant systems in healthy and sick miners as well as in nonminers workers has been determined. The features of metabolic disorders in RD and G depending from the character of occupational activity of the sick miners havebeen detected. The prevalence of articular disorders in RD and G has been found to be greater in the miners than in the workers of other professions. A cjmplex therapy of RD and G in coal miners has been worked out considering peculiarities of the pathogenesis of these diseases in this category of patientes.
