3. Investigation object: confectionary market in Ukraine. Investigation aim: to define the properties of the formation of confectionary market in Ukraine of the transition period, the prior trends of the confectionary industry development. Investigation methods: logical and comparative analysis, sample survey, analysis ans synthesis, monitoring of market. The thesis proves the necessity of the formation of new foodstuff policy. There are studied the properties of the formation of confectionary market in Ukraine during the transition period, and shown the results of marketing investigation. We affirmed the influence of main factors on the volume of sales and the dependence of the changes in the volume of consumption on the income levels and type of dwelling places of people. We also worked out a mathematical model of forecasting the volumes of sales, and analyzed the financial state of the enterprises of the branch. We proved and worked out the proposals concerning the improvement of the system of gove rnmental regulation of confectionery market and the management of the branch in the conditions of market economy, and the implementation of the branch marketing service. There are also defined some prior trends of the branch development, the ways to improve the innovation activity and the financial state of the enterprises. The results of research are utilized at enterprises of industry and in the course of educational activity. The sphere of use are the confectionary industry.
