Essay

The dissertation deals with studying the effect of surface, shallow, medium and deep autumn cultivation's for sugar beet growing under the growing conditions, yielding capacity and root quality. Under the conditions of the Southern Forest-Steppe Zone of Ukraine chornozem soils, the possibility to reduce the depth of the main soil tillage for sugar beet growing from 30-32 to 20-22 cm practically without decreasing sugar beet yielding capacity has been found, sugar content being slightly higher. This is due to better indices of root quality. The decrease of the depth of main soil tillage for sugar beet growing from 30-32 to 20-22 cm is of economic and energy importance.
