Kapush A. Evolutional Processes in German Social and Political Vocabulary: a study of Periodicals of the late 80s - 90s.

The dissertation deals with the evolutional processes in German social and political vocabulary of the late 80s - 90s of the 20th century conditioned by the influence of a number of extralinguistic factors. Complex analysis of language material on the basis of the onomastical approach is suggested. Vocabulary innovations of the investigated period were detected, their thematic groups, qualitative analysis and classification were established by means of marking out the synchronous layer and on the basis of a number of criteria. The main ways of the quantitative and qualitative development of this part of German vocabulary, the role of the word-formative and semantic derivation in it, the adoption of the foreign vocabulary were investigated. The spheres of functioning of the East German language units in the modern common word usage in Germany were determined.
