Object of investigation - polystyrene compositions, aim of investigation - the production method of polystyrene compositions optimization with the purpose to advance their scintillation characteristics. Methods of investigation: different methods of polystyrene compositions production (bulk polymerization, injection molding), radiometrical and optical methods of scintillation character measurements, mechanical and rheological properties tests, parameters of molecular mass distribution determination by viscosity and calculate methods. Theoretical and practical results: The influence of polystyrene composition production regimes on their scintillation characters, stability to thermo- and radiative aging was explored. The worked out optimal regimes of composition prodution allowed to produce scintillators, whose basic characters exceed those of the best foreign analogs. Degree of inculcation technological regulations inculcated in experienced factory of Institute for Single Crystals. Field of applicati on: material research science of polymers, physics of high energy and elementary particles, instruments making, radiometric.
