Kotlyarov P. World-view and religious-political activity of Philipp Melanchton.

The thesis is dedicated to complex biography study of Philipp Melanchton, the remarkable German reformation activist. Significant attention is given to the analysis of the formation of the religiously-humanistic world-view of the reformer and his influence on the ideology and socially-political life of Germany. Character and essence of "erasmian" humanism typical of P. Melanchton are researched, as well as his activity in reforming the education system. Analysis is made of Melanchton's diplomacy tactics, directed towards peaceful conflict resolution while considering Reformation interests, although it does not avoid certain radicalism during critical moments.
