Legal nature, functions, forms and methods of election commissions activity, problems of normative regulation and realization of their powers. The research methods: dialectic, historical-legal, relatively-legal, structurally-functional, sociological, statistical. For the first time in a Ukrainian science of the constitutional law under theoretical level are analysis legal status of election commissions, their nature, functions, competence, relations with other organs of public power, forms and methods of their activity. The conclusions and recommendations, formulated in a thesis, can be used for the perfecting of the legislation about the status of the electoral legislation, in research and scientific work, in educational process. Issuing the monography is planned. Perfecting of the current legislation about the status and competence of the election commissions.
