Object of research: aesthetic category "harmony" sensible as theoretic and literary notion. Purpose of research: to concretise the sense and internal logic of extension of category of harmony with the respect to art of word, to comprehend it as a basis of holism of literal work. Methods of research: theory and history of harmony; aesthetics of word creations of M.M. Bakhtin; holism theory and methodology of analysis and interpretation of literal works; theory of artistic holism by M.M. Hirsman. Results: the most productive phases of harmony formation are suggested, classic essence of this category is analysed; "paradigm change" problem in humanitarian thinking in XX century is brightened, "dialogising background" (M.M. Bakhtin) of development of ideas about harmony in literal creation; theoretic point of M.M. Bakhtin about relation between "aesthetic object" and "external creature" is developed; classic nature of A.S. Pushkin literal works, based on assertion of harmonic link between the human-creator and the world; ontogolical statements of "non-classical poet" by I. Brodsky are determined by definition of energy harmonising gap between "classical" and "non-classic" basis; harmony's productivity as a theoretic and literal notion is shown, reading of classic (A.S. Pushkin) and non-classic (I. Brodsky) works is suggested, that opened differently from the point of harmony. Novelty: the essential specifics of aesthetic category of harmony in the respect to art of word are opened in the new way, statements about the harmony, declared in Bakhtin's treatise "Problem of essence, material and form in word artistic creation" are developed, on their basis: aesthetic essence of harmony in poetic sphere is transposed, the new approach to the problem of actuality of classic tradition of Russian literature for the poetic art of XX century is augmented, new reading of the set of creations with the rest upon the harmony as aesthetic category is suggested.
