Essay

Results contain the theoretical and experimental investigations of hydrothermal and solid-phase intercalation of carbamide and new intercalant - ammonium chloride - into kaolinite. It was established that the intercalation, being a technique of bulk-and-surface modification of kaolinite on a molecular level, enhances its reactivity and provides means for adjustment of the most properties of the mineral by variation in the intercalant nature, degree of intercalation and methods of auxiliary treatment. Kaolinite intercalates are of interest for the solution of practical problems in the technologies of refractory materials, fillers, catalysts, sorbents and other.
