Gamburg L. Judicial reform in left-bank Ukraine (Hetmanschyna) XVIII century

. Dissertation deals with problem of founding and devel-opment of judicial system of Ukraine - Hetmanschyna in the second half of XVII - XVIII centuries. The author pays attention to the analysis of judicial reforms which were carried out by the hetmans P.L. Polubotok, D.P. Apostol and K.G. Rozumovsky during the 18th century, the author also analyses counter - reformatory measures of I and II Malorosiysky Collegiums. The author draws a con-clusion about the complication and bifurcation of judicial system of Ukraine - Hetmanschyna and about its certain democratic characteristic features and complex of substan-tial contradictions for solving of which Ukrainian hetmans directed judicial reforms. Appreciation of historical experi-ence of these reforms can be useful in judicial transforma-tion in modern Ukraine.
