The dissertation is devoted to the problems of chronic virus hepatitis studies through elucidating the dissemination rate of hepatitis B and C virus markers among medical workers and CVH patients in the Transcarpathian Region; to the studies of the immune system condition features in CVH patients. VH markers were determined in 2117 individuals, from whom 232 patients were selected for further investigations, including 125 CHB and 107 CHC patients. A high rate of infection by hepatitis viruses B and C was found among the medical workers. Complex correlation of the CVH clinical course with the results of biochemical studies , IFA and PCR was carried on, and on this basis it was suggested to extend the observation program at the expense of PCR. In CVH patients the secondary immune deficit was found, which requires im-mune correction. Positive influence of cycloferonum on the clinical course of CVH was recog-nized.
