The method of calculating the strength of the reinforced elements of machines of the beam kind which have cracks when the plastic deformations in the neighbourhood of the crack top and the resulting deformations which appear due to the unloading of the material in the process of crack growing has been worked out. The strength the reinforced beam has been defined, and the plastic loosening of concrete in the neighbourhood of the crack top is taken into consideration, varying resistance of concrete to the stretching and compression as well.
