Maksimentsev M. Mechanism of exchange-rate policy in the European transition economies

The dissertation is dedicated to the theoretical and practical aspects of formation, conduct and development of exchange-rate policy in the European transition economies. Factors of initial estimation and further change of exchange rate, and also the role of exchange rate in preserving financial stabilization in those countries are analized. Criteria of choice of exchange-rate regime are generalized and systematized therein. It is discovered that there is relationship between exchange-rate arrangement and the level of fiscal discipline. The efficiency of exchange-rate policy of Ukraine is analized. Certain measures for its improvement and development are worked out.
