Essay

Object of investigation: calixarenes, O-derivatives of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene. Aim of investigation: analysis of capabilities of advancing of methods by selective functionalization of the p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene and its derivatives, transformation available in a calixarene's molecule functional groups in other and examination of a structure and properties of obtained compounds. Methods of investigation and instruments: organic synthesis, IR, UV-, NMR-spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, elemental analysis, chromatography. Theoretical results and novelty: with the help of a method 1H NMR the conformations of molecules of the obtained compounds are established; the synthetic paths to obtaining of nitrogen-bearing p-tert-butylcalix[4]arenes were offered; the relation of a composition and preferable conformation of a p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene's derivatives from conditions of realization of reacting of an alkylation and acylation was studied; the properties of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arenes as phase transfer catalysts have been shown for the first time. The complexes of ions of lanthanides with some of the obtained compounds are synthesized. Practical results and novelty: The methods of modification of hydrazide, esteric and other functional groups of initial derivative p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene to carboxylic, amidic, aminoacidic and aminoalcoholic groups with high yield of main product and preservation of a conformation initial macrocycle. The operational effectiveness mono- and bis[(methyloxycarbonyl)buthoxy]-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arenes as catalysts of interphase reaction of KMnO4 oxidation of alkenes and alcohols with high yield of main products and simple way of their allocation. Subject and degree of introduction: publications, reports on scientifics conferences, application of present work results in scientific and education practice in universities and institutes of Ukraine. Efficiency of inculcation is provided with usage of more perfect methods of synthesis to p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene's O-derivatives, b y possibility of using calix[4]arenes as catalysts of interphase carry and complexones. Field of application: chemistry, industry.
