The aim of the investigation is achieving the stable short-term rehabilitation of the lower jaw position in cases of the functional occlusion disorder due to the pathogenic treatment including the impact on each area responsible for the pathologic process. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the author's pathbreaking examination of the permanent functional shift of the lower jaw as a kind of the dentomaxillous system dysfunction, which will make it possible to systematize this pathology according to the shift type and etiologic factors causing it. New ways of preventing the evolution of the permanent functional shift of the lower jaw will be offered and a new device for its diagnosis and treatment will be worked out. The phenomena studied. Structural and functional modifications of the dentomaxillous system elements: the occlusive tooth surfaces, the dentition, the masticatory muscles, with the permanent functional shift of the lower jaw. Practical value. The clinical applicatio n of new approach to the pathogenic treatment of the permanent functional shift of the lower jaw, as well as of the diagnostic-treating device, has facilitated the stable short-term rehabilitation.
