3. The thesis is devoted to learning the specific use of the programme's principle in the piano music of the Ukrainian composers on the different historical stages. Analytic, historic-stylish, didactic and typological methods of investigation are employed. The figurative-original sources of programme genre are discovered, the definitions "folk type", "didactic programming" are become current, for the first time series of littleknown compositions are analyzed.
