The dissertation contains the analysis of the main problem related to the investigation of job satisfaction of different scientific groups' members with the methods of survey and discussion at focal groups. The rewiew and analysis of scietific-theoretical and field research are devoted to the investigation of job satisfaction phenomenon from the positions of social psychology and organizational behavior. The author highlights the structure and dynamics of essential components of scientist's value orientation sphere. It has been established that job satisfaction is a complex concept which study should be conducted at whole as well as by components, which allows to improve the correlation with such work performance criteria as successfulness of activity. The major role of value orientations (reflected and non-reflected) in the structure of scientific job satisfaction has been shown.
