Essay

The resistance of high-strength chromium-manganese steels to pitting and stress corrosion cracking was investigated considering its working conditions in turbogenerators. For investigation were used: electrochemical, impedance, corrosion tests, constant elongation rate technique to evaluation of materials susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking. It had been established the conditions: concentration of ions Cl- та Cu2+, temperatures, polarization potentials, which reduce the resistance of chromium-manganese steels to pitting and stress corrosion cracking. It had been proposed solutions at 348 K: 22% CuCl2 - for evaluation of steels susceptibility to pitting and 0,5%CuCl2+3%NaCl - to stress corrosion cracking. It had been established the optimal potential ranges of cathodic protection of steels against pitting and stress corrosion cracking in solutions CuCl2 and NaCl. It had been proved the substitution of siliconorganic coatings for anticorrosion protection of retaining rings by poliuretan coating,
