Essay

The results of investigation of composition of the cell-wall surface proteins of nonpathogenic strains of Corynebacterium and their antigenic properties analysis are presented in the dissertation. It has been shown that morphotype changes of corynebacteria cells are accompanied with changes in the composition of cell-wall surface proteins as well as changes in their antigenic properties and different expression of surface proteins. The main protein species-specific spectrum of different strains from corynebacteria genus has been identified. It has been shown that classification of strains on the basis of the spectrum of main proteins was in accordance with the classification on the basis of other biologic properties. Therefore, this property has the taxonomic value. The antigenic relationships between different species of corynebacteria were investigated by means of immune sera. The antigenic properties of nonpathogenic corynebacteria coincides with traditional diagnostic symptoms. This circumstance h as the possibility to direct the manufacturing strains E531 and VNIIgenetica 90 to the species of Corynebacterium glutamicum. The new combined effective method for fast identification of C.glutamicum was created on the base of antigenic properties of these strains.
