Essay

Object: solids SF6, CHCl3, C6H6, CCl4 - the crystals with various types of rotational motion of molecules. Purpose of research: to determine of influence of rotational motion of molecules on the thermal conductivity at high temperatures. Methods: measuring of the coefficient of thermal conductivity by a steady-state planar method, reduced coordinate method. New results: new installation was create for measuring isobaric thermal conductivity of solidified liquids and gases. The thermal conductivity of solids SF6, CHCl3, C6H6, and CCl4 investigated in the high-temperature of the existence region. The author has managed to observe the change of the magnitude and behaviour of izochoric thermal conductivity depending on the character of rotational motion of molecules. A modified version of the reduced coordinate method is used to calculate the phonon-phonon and phonon-rotational contributions of the total resistance.
