Essay

The dissertation is devoted to study of the efficacy of b-blocker carvedilol possessing additional property of a1-blocker and antioxydant, comparing with b-blocker athenolol in patients with essential hypertension associated with ischemic heart disease. It was found out that carvedilol treatment comparing with athenolol contributes to reaching of more steady control of blood pressure during 24 hours. It results more beneficial effect on some heart rate variability data, left ventricle systolic function in its failure, heart structural-functional data, finding of lipoperoxydation and antioxydation system, particularly in patients with more severe course of disease. Recommendation for carvedilol usage as hypotensive drug depending on the degree of arterial hypertension were elaborated.
