Essay

The dissertation deals with the influence of self-fields of charged particle beams on the processes of beam acceleration and transportation in linear induction accelerators, and on the processes of microwave electromagnetic radiation (MWEMR) generation in plasma-beam systems (PBS). Theoretical investigations and numerical simulation have demonstrated the basic possibility of charge/current compensation of an annular high-current ion beam (AHCIB) as this beam, together with the additional electron beam, propagates through the magnetoinsulated accelerating gaps. Calculated is the restriction on the wall thickness of the AHCIB, which preserves beam monoenergetic. Conditions for powerful MWEMR with the most effective energy take-off from the electron beam as this beam interacts with hybrid BPS were found.
