The dissertation is devoted to the theoretical and practical aspects of forming and realisation of regional policy in European Union countries. Principles, mechanisms, instruments of the regional policy were analysed in the work. There was summarised and systematised criterias of selecting preference regions, studied of providing regional policy in selected countries. The author has analyzed vlalia of the formation of regional policy in Ukraine through the complex of macroeconomic indicators and in the European Union itself and possibilities of its implementation in Ukraine.
