Kozlova T. Australian English Word-stock Transformation In Ethnolinguistic Perspective (the Study of Words With Autochthonous Component)

The object of the research is autochthonous innovations in Australian English. The aim of the research is to study the mechanisms of the English lexicon transformation, which was triggered by the ethnic contacts between the Anglo-Saxons and Australian Aborigines. The methods of the research are correlative, the elements of lexicographical analysis of dictionary definitions, component, comparative. The theoretical results and novelty: the ethnolinguistic method was worked out to research the autochthonous innovations in Australian English; the instruments of the adaptation, which the English language undergone overseas were studied. The practical results: the extralinguistic factors and linguistic processes of the modification of the English lexicon were analyzed; the etymology and word-formation structure of the autochthonous innovations were investigated; correlation between the nomination strategy and cultural type of phenomenon was determined. The subject and the level of the inculcation: the obtain ed results are used in University practical and theoretical linguistic courses. The field of the application is the courses in German Philology.
