Essay

The thesis is devoted to study the influence of potassium channel activator nicorandil that was prescribed as an additional remedy to the standard therapy of congestive heart failure, on clinical progress of the disease, central hemodynamic parameters, tolerability to a physical exertion and neurohumoral indicators of endothelial function. 112 patients have been observed. It was defined that inclusion of domestic produced nicorandil to the schema of treatment resulted in the efficacy improvement. It is evident out of the improvement of patient's clinical status, positive changes in the central hemodynamic parameters and tolerability to physical exertion. It was proved that efficacy of nicorandil is partially connected with its positive influence on the plasma concentration of some vasoactive substances such as endothelin-1 and cyclic guanosinmonophosphate. Higher efficacy of nicorandil was found out in aged patients with advanced ischemic heart failure.
