. The object of investigation: Discourse associated with E.Zola's novel "Germinal" in the French and Ukrainian literature study. The purpose of the investigation: Revealing of the essence and description of the peculiarities of the literary-critical discourse and means of its textual embodiment. Methods: comparative-historical, hermeneutic. The practical significance of the results achieved: for the first time in the Ukrainian literature study the essence and peculiarities of the literary-critical discourse were considered in details; definition of this discourse was presented; the use of the results, in the courses of the theory of literature, of the basis of comparativistics and lingual stylistics.
