Kijko Y. Lexico-Semantic Group of Verbs of Motion in Modern German (paradigmatic and syntagmatic peculiarities)

The dissertation presents a comprehensive analysis of verbs of motion in Modern German in paradigmatic (quantitative, word-building, phonosemantic) and syntagmatic aspects. The average number of verbs of motion in Modern German is established. The interrelation between polysemy of these verbs and their frequency in dictionaries as well as their distribution type in Duden are determined. The inventory of verbs of motion is made up; analysis of the paradigmatic and syntagmatic characteristics of verbs of motion with the help of formal and informal methods is carried out. The distribution of verbs of motion and peculiarities of combinability of most frequent verbs are described. The word-building properties of verbs of motion and their derivational productivity are revealed. The phonetic meaning of verbs of motion in Modern German is determined.
