Essay

The dissertation investigates theoretical and practical aspects of foreign direct investments regulation in the European Union in general, and particularly, in one of its member states - FRG. The dissertation provides analysis of structural elements of the EU regional regulation of FDI export system, what allowed not only to concretise their specific objectives, but also to identify their common features and functioning consistent patterns. Compatibility and correlation of the supranational FDI regulation instruments of the EU was discovered with such the most important directions and tasks of its Single Regional Policy as: small and medium-size business development facilitation, trade policy, coordinated measures in the sphere of employment, sustainable economic and social development, common agricultural policy and West-European industry's competitive ability. The work investigates functional structure of the EU regional FDI imports regulation mechanism according to main directions to ensure its succ essful and efficient functioning: regulation in the framework of the EU Single Market, Single Customs Union and antimonopoly legislation. It is found that FDI regulation in Ukraine is characterised by relative inefficiency, systemless and imperfection and our country's investment climate is unfavourable enough, in the broad meaning of the word. On this base the reasons for foreign investors' negative attitude to our country and small amounts of FDI inflows are defined.
