Larin S. Seismolithostratigraphic prediction in prospecting of sedimentary paleogeomorphological hydrocarbons traps (Lower Carboniferous and Upper Devonian deposits of the central part of the Dnieper-Donets depression as an example)

The method of seismic lithostratigraphic prediction in prospecting of the sedimentary paleogeomorphological hydrocarbons traps is substantiated. It allows to determine theirs morphogenetic types. Effective complex of geophysical investigations in wells as connecting link between seismic and sedimentologic investigation is developed. New well logging characteristics of main lithologic types of rocks is elaborated. It makes possible to realize comprehensive each-stratum correlation of the geological section and evaluate reservoir properties. New promising trends for exploration and prospecting targets isolation are suggested on the basis of seismic lithostratigraphic analysis. They are connected with predicted zones of the different morphogenetic types of the sedimentologic-paleogeomorphological petroliferous traps of the Lower Carboniferous and Upper Devonian complexes within the central part of the Dnieper-Donets depression. New primary promising trend of oil and gas search connected with biffurcated sand accumulated bodies (BSAB) is substantiated and the criteria of their prediction, isolation and mapping are proposed. Geological-commercial evaluation of oil and gas predicted resources connected with their prospecting, exploration and development are economically profitable under present-day technical and economical conditions in Ukraine.
